Doug grew up in Jasper, Indiana.  He majored in theater in high school and college. During the summer he worked in summer stock, at the age of 16 he had his first major role, playing Big Julie in Guys and Dolls, all 5’1”of him. From then on he was hooked. During those years he played in over 15 different musicals. He was asked to join the Vincennes University summer stock in 1975.  After the season was over he joined the Navy. While in the Navy he won many talent contests, and traveled the world.  After graduating college in 1981 he hopped from one theater troupe to another.  Finally he started his own theater group in 1982 called the Fault Line Players.  He wrote, directed, acted and produced shows for 10 years. During this time he also became an acting coach and taught improv. The group began doing shows in Balboa Park, soon after they were hired by Seaport Village in San Diego.  They performed every weekend for over two years.  Doing improvisational comedy and various plays that Doug wrote and directed.  After that they started doing shows at various theaters throughout the country. They traveled throughout California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.  For a while in the 90s Douglas did standup at the Comedy Store in San Diego.  In 1995 he started his second group, A Fool and His Lady.  Douglas decided to do strictly family entertainment.  He brought back a show he used to perform in Balboa Park Jack and the Beanstalk. He tells the fairytale but this time he used his family and the audience as the actors and actresses.  Then he added Spoonerisms to his act.  First came Cinderella, which was turned, into Rindecella.   Then came Hansel and Gretel, which he also turned, into a spoonerism fairytale. He developed a great act that would entertain people of all ages.  With his family in tow he started doing Renaissance fairs, street fairs, weddings, corporate events.  Doug and his family have performed at the Riverside Dickens fair, Corona, Orange County, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Lake arrowhead Renaissance fair, just to name a few. They have performed over 1200 shows in 10 years.  In April of this year Castle Park asked Douglas to come up and join their family.  Where he is proud to bring his family shows to you.
